Teams of usually no more than six formed from across the business divisions provide a learning support network whereby teams can work together across the programme to:
- reach a high level of self awareness and learning
- facilitate visits to business divisions to broaden their understanding of the Smiths Group
- conduct external site visits to broaden their understanding of the wider business world
- complete research and share learning
- review individual and team learning as a result of their activities
At every workshop the Action Learning Teams review and share their learning from their activities. Managers and mentors are invited to participate in these reviews to expose participants to further supportive challenge and also to provide a healthy communication channel for their observations.
Activities range from site visits, interviewing business leaders, suppliers and customers, conducting school visits through to producing and presenting a CAPEX proposal.
