The profiling process involves working one-to-one over the period of a day with a business psychologist from Kaisen Consulting. Your line manager and your local HR or Learning Specialist are also involved at various points to ensure you get the most out of the experience and get the support you need to in planning with you your development post the process .
As preparation for the profiling day, you will complete 4 personality measures online. We may also ask you to complete an abstract reasoning exercise. It is important that you complete all these online activities in a quiet environment, where you are unlikely to be interrupted.
The profiling day involves 2 interviews and completion of a short thinking skills exercise. One interview focuses on your underlying motivation (the things that ‘make you tick’) and your underlying capability. The other interview looks more specifically at your business thinking.
On the profiling day you will also get feedback on all the personality and thinking skills measures you have completed.
The psychologist will write a Personal Profile Report based on the themes that emerge from the interviews, personality measures and thinking skills exercises.
Kaisen will send you an email or letter giving you more information about the process and you will most likely also have a telephone conversation with your line manager and/or HR who will assist in briefing you .
To make the most of the profiling, the one-to-one session will be followed-up by a development planning session facilitated by the psychologist and attended by you and your line manager. Divisions may decide to involve HR or a Development Specialist if appropriate in this discussion. This session gives you the opportunity for further explanation of the psychometrics (if necessary), to understand and explore your Personal Profile Report, to discuss development priorities and to prepare an individually-tailored development plan.
If appropriate the psychologist may discuss the Personal Profile Report with your line manager and potentially the HR or Development Specialist prior to the development planning discussion to ensure they fully understanding the profile and can properly support the development planning process. |
